PADDOCKS PATENT (MONDAY)

14:30 Ayr

Another For Joe is the only previous course and distance winner in this field and the combination of Jim Goldie and Fergal Lynch are hard to resist at a track where they do so well. The seven year old has dropped back to a decent looking handicap mark and it would be of little surprise to see him record a fifth career success today.

Thankstomonty has been remarkably consistent this year and his confidence will have been boosted with a first win of the season at Beverley last time. David O’Meara has his team in excellent order at present and he looks to be the main danger. Jay Kay bounced back to form with a win over seven furlongs at the track last time. He has gone up in the ratings as a result and is zero from eight when attempting this trip. He does not offer much of the way value here.

Another For Joe has won two previous races when there has been some cut in the ground and with that likely to be the case once again he has to rank high on any shortlist.

Exclusive Contract likes to hear her hooves rattle on a sound surface and this lightly raced four year old could well have further progress to offer. The yard ended a spell in the doldrums when Anushka Noo Noo won at Ripon last week and Ollie Pears will be hoping for a determined effort from this daughter of High Chapparal.

Slipper Satin enjoyed this trip when winning at Redcar two runs ago. She was not beaten all that far in a Cartmel hurdle race subsequently and with the ground in her favour once again, she has to be considered an obvious danger. She is still well handicapped on the best of her old form and she should be staying on when others have cried enough. Prostate Awareness indicated that a further rise in trip would be exactly what he wanted when staying on to take fourth at Beverley last time. Conditions should be fine for him and punters may well want to cop a feel each way if he is sent off at a double figure price.

Exclusive Contract is reunited with Jacob Butterfield here and his three pound claim could prove invaluable in a race of this nature. The extra distance is taken to bring about further improvement from her and the combination can go close this afternoon.

Noble Peace was only just touched off in a decent looking Goowdood maiden back in May but the form of the race is beginning to work out. War Whisper and Welford finished in behind the selection last time and they have both come out to win subsequently.

Inland Sea represents the powerhouse stable of Richard Hannon. Their runners always have to be considered on their local track and this American bred colt has to command respect with Harry Bentley in the saddle. Destroyer was considered good enough to send to Royal Ascot and contested the Coventry Stakes where he was beaten fourteen lengths by Buratino. He should appreciate this massive drop in grade and he could well prove to be the biggest danger to the selection.

Henry Candy and Dane O’Neill have a healthy strike rate when they team up and this son of Kyllachy is fully entitled to improve for his debut run. The trainer may well have found an ideal opportunity for this youngster to shed his maiden status and he can go on to better things in time.
