CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL – DAY 4. (FRIDAY)

13:30 Cheltenham It’s been another amazing festival so far but the Prestbury Park unfortunately comes to an end here on day four. Lest hope it’ll be another day to remember. The opening race the JCB Triumph hurdle (Grade 1) see’s fifteen currently going to post in what looks a thrilling race on paper with many of these Posting great runs last time out. Nicky Henderson has a great record in this race and won with Peace And Co twelve months ago and tries his luck here today

15:05 Leopardstown There’s some fantastic racing in Ireland today and it’d be criminal not to cover the showpiece race of the day. The action from Leopardstown looks set to be another prep for some of Willie Mullins’ super stars and its no exception as he saddles three of the five runners here. Nichols Canyon got the better of Champion Hurdle winner Faugheen when they met earlier in the season but the eight year old will no doubt strip fitter for that run. A return to winning

12:35 Lingfield Bromyard has only managed one win in five but finished second in the other four, behind some useful horses on their day. Trainer D M Simcock has been operating at a 40% win rate over the last two weeks and jockey Jamie Spencer has a 27% win rate when riding for the stable so the lightly raced four year old is the selection in our opening race. Francos Secret has won two from three over course and distance and ran a decent 3rd when last seen over 10 furlongs he

14:35 Kempton All of todays trio of picks come from the all-weather at Kempton and we start with fourth of eight contests from the London venue. The current favourite hails from a yard better known for its prowess over jumps as opposed to the flat but you can’t dispute that trainer Neil Mullholland has found winning ways with this runner as Mrs Burbidge looks to rack up four flat wins in a row. Interspersed with a couple of solid hurdles runs gives this horse a great chance b

    TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

13:50 Warwick The Betfred Mobile Hampton Novices’ Chase gets the TV action underway on Saturday and it is a fascinating listed contest. All the attention in the market will rightly be on the Graham Wylie owned Black Hercules who will likely go off as warm favourite for this one. The seven-year-old, who represents the juggernaut Willie Mullins yard, was highly impressive when romping to an easy success on his chasing debut. The jumping looked that of a top class animal that da

13:40 Southwell With just two meetings scheduled this Sunday we ignore Ireland and focus solely on the all-weather action from Southwell. The first selection is very speculative as we plump for the rank outsider of this seven runner contest. The market leader, Play Nicely is a course and distance winner who deserves respect as a likely improver. PADDOCKS PATENT (WEDNESDAY)

14:10 Huntingdon The action for us starts with a Novices’ Chase on the only jumps card of the day at Huntingdon. Value At Risk was a faller on his chasing debut at Newbury in November but don’t let that put you off. He’ll have been schooled extensively since then by Dan Skelton, whose yard have struggled for winners of late but have hit the crossbar on a number of occasions. This seven-year-old was rated 144 over hurdles and has a chasing pedigree, so could take to the game a
