The opener from Newcastle is an exciting middle-distance handicap and an open looking contest.
Bearwith has been great for Harriet Bethall in 2022, winning twice. He tries Newcastle for the first time this evening but will need more to be successful off his all-weather mark.
Oscar Doodle scored nicely over course and distance last time, however, this is a better race and he is likely to be short odds to repeat the success.
I am siding with Jomont, each way for this event. He loves himself here at Newcastle and really picked up his form around this time last year winning a class four event in December. He is back down to a very winnable mark and he would represent very good value today.

The closing race is for the sprinters where a few hold strong claims to head home happy.
Ruth Carr runs maiden Reigning Profit who is blinkered with the hopes that may prove the difference. Though he has run well here at Newcastle, others are proven winners and preferred.
Ramon Di Loria dropped down to five furlongs last time and stayed on very strongly to prove that was the right call. He will like the strong pace here again today, though he is now on a career high mark and will do well to follow up today.
The selection here is Phoenix Star. He has finished in the first three on all of his seven visits to Gosforth Park and has a great chance here again today with Oli Stammers claiming what could be a critical 3lb.
