    TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

13:50 ASCOT La Bague Au Roi arrives here having won her last three, including an excellent victory on first attempt over a three mile trip when last seen. Soft ground holds no fears for the seven-year old and she has been given a decent amount of time to overcome the exertions of her last victory so should be capable of giving favourite-backers a winning start to today’s ITV races. Midnight Tune also brings decent form in to this race having won her last two. Her trainer is i

CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL – DAY 2 (WEDNESDAY)

13.30 Cheltenham Statisticians would point out fancied horses tend to dominate this as 27 of the last 30 winners have come from those within the 1st 6 in the betting. Another interesting stat would be the record of the Irish, who have taken 7 of the last 13 renewals, Mullins being responsible for 3 of the last 10 winners. Yorkhill would be high on any stats list and his form makes him even more interesting, unbeaten in his five and an easy winner of the Tolworth he was thoug

    SUNDAY WEEKENDER

13:40 Southwell With just two meetings scheduled this Sunday we ignore Ireland and focus solely on the all-weather action from Southwell. The first selection is very speculative as we plump for the rank outsider of this seven runner contest. The market leader, Play Nicely is a course and distance winner who deserves respect as a likely improver. Trainer David Barron sends the horse back to the place of its success just this Tuesday and with the yard doing well it is undoub

    TV TIPS (SUNDAY)

13:25 Kempton After yesterday’s King George exploits we return to Kempton for another four races. The opening contest, as with yesterday, looks set for a Nicky Henderson winner. Clearly the yard are in great form and favourite Vaniteaux was very impressive when winning here on its chase debut. This race looks a better contest than last time but not too steep a step up and despite its odds on price it looks likely to go in once again. Of its rivals JP McManus’s purchase of
