ROYAL ASCOT
DAY 4 - FRIDAY
The penultimate day of the meeting looks as competitive as ever and we're hoping to go big or go home as we pinpoint a handful at decent odds to go to war with the bookmakers this Friday.
14:30
LIBERALISED
(E/W)
PEREGRINE FALCON
(E/W)
It's foolish to ignore the Aidan O'Brien duo but yet I find myself doing just that.
Karl Burke has had a stellar week so far and at a decent price LIBERALISED could be one to consider. A solid winner at Hamilton on debut and she's got plenty of room for further progress.
At even bigger odds PEREGRINE FALCON is yet to taste success but showed enough on debut to indicate more's to come. Likely to get a decent start and if she's able to hold on in the closing furlong could grab some place money.
15:05
INISHERIN
(E/W)
KIND OF BLUE
(E/W)
We've already seen the yellow and black silks of owner Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum in Ascot's Winners Enclosure this week and they look likely to take in another visit here. INISHERIN seemed a revitalised animal when dropping back to a sprint trip at Haydock last time out and looks the one to beat.
Of the remained the unbeaten KIND OF BLUE was an impressive winner at Doncaster and although this is a marked step up in grade could do better than many expect.
15:45
SKELLET
(E/W)
SKELLET's run in the Irish 1,000 Guineas was too bad to be true. Now with a run under her belt there's hope she can do far better. Will appreciate the firmer surface and could be there to pounce if some of the main protagonists fail to deliver.
16:25
ETHICAL DIAMOND
(WIN)
Ryan Moore and Willie Mullins have a fantastic record when teaming up, especially at this meeting. ETHICAL DIAMOND might have a price that's a tad on the short side but it's difficult to make a case for any of his rivals.
17:05
FOREVER BLUE
(E/W)
Wathnan Racing have a better meeting than even they could have expected yet they could continue to add to their tally. The Ralph Beckett trained FOREVER BLUE makes her handicap debut after winning at Haydock earlier in the month. Hasn't been crippled by the weights and seems an obvious each-way player, especially at her current double figure price.
17:40
AGENDA
(E/W)
The penultimate race looks to be the toughest of all as the current market leader Diego Velazquez hasn't come close to victory in his last three starts. He's likely to improve for a drop in grade but others make more appeal.
The Ballydoyle second string AGENDA has improved with every start and after a clear second in the Chester Vase should continue his upward trajectory.
At a larger price Voyage is somewhat of an unknown quantity but deserves a closer look after his unfortunate Derby run.
18:15
SOMELLIER
(E/W)
Finishing second behind Big Evs is certainly something to write home about and as such SOMMELIER has a great chance. Now dropping into handicap company and with the eye-catching jockey booking of Ryan Moore he could go one better than his latest run.
