Tonight’s Newmarket card looks like it could throw up a few winning favourites and Emotionless will almost certainly go off favourite in this, a well related type he holds plenty of fancy entries and as Godolphin have taken three of the last six renewals of this, he can further improve that record and get us off to a flying start. Stablemate Venturous is another likely type on paper and could well upset the apparent first string but there is a niggling feeling he will come on for the outing, either way he’s entitled to plenty of respect. Sun Lover represents a stable firing and is another with a pedigree that promises to pay off, the concern is that Cumani has yet to register a success with any of his two year olds this term and as such, he must be taken on. Tidal Wave, In The City and Free Passage are other interesting challengers but the Godolphin challengers are likely to be hard to beat.
Emotionless (WIN)

No favourite had won this in ten years before John Gosden sent one out to oblige last year and his Timba is likely to fancied this time around. Having won nicely on debut she ran a nice enough race behind a decent type when last seen and with some fancy entries upcoming she is obviously well thought of, the yard have a good record with her family too so a massive run should be expected and she is the one to beat. Florris showed much improved form to go in around here the last day and looked to have plenty left in the tank, what she achieved in winning is hard to weigh up but her yard have been amongst the winners and she looks sure to run a nice race. Nancy From Nairobi is the clear form choice despite being a maiden and connections will likely be left scratching their heads should she fail to win this, she must give weight however and there is no question the rest have much greater room for improvement. Wordcraft won her first two starts in good fashion before finding a couple too good here last time, she appeared a little unlucky however and this extra furlong will almost certainly bring out more improvement. The rest look to be no hopers and although Wordcraft will have to improve to take this, she is handed the selection to do so.

It will be interesting to see if the infuriating Secretinthepark takes up his engagement in this as he’s due to race on the Shergar Cup meeting on Saturday. Slightly unlucky at Goodwood the last day he has seemingly regressed since winning twice in the 13 season, this does however represent a significant drop in class and if any trainer can win a pot with him, Robert Cowell is the man. Providing he gets a good pace to run at and the gaps appear, he is afforded one last chance to make his class tell and take this. The list of challengers is endless as most have a chance of sorts, Brigliadoro is often overlooked but he likes it here and he could prove to be a potent threat at big odds. Sunraider makes the long journey down from the north and is officially two pounds well in tonight, its interesting he runs here and as he’s in decent heart, he gets the main danger tag. Picture Dealer, Steve Prescott and Highland Acclaim all hold strong chances and are worth considering but Martin Harley is taken to thread the pasn Secrtinthepark and nail them all late.
