Cheltenham 14:40 Just the one race from Cheltenham today but it is a fantastic looking renewal. Voix D’Eau won the race last year but has only managed to place once in five since, while runner up Art Mauresque won his next two but has since struggled when stepped up in to Graded races so both look a little vulnerable. Starchitect has been a horse I have followed for a while and and he should give another decent account of himself, however having raced at both Cheltenham and Aintree festivals in the last six weeks he may not be at his peak in terms of fitness. Thomas Crapper has a 50% strike rate for placing over course and distance and followed up an excellent victory at Newbury with a solid fourth in the Brown Advisory at the festival in March. He has place possibilities but i’d prefer a bigger price. I’m opting for Village Vic who has an excellent record at Cheltenham making the frame in five from eight over today’s trip, including three placed efforts in similar races to what he encounters here. These came in softer ground but has has also won and placed on good ground in the past and looks a solid each way bet at current prices of around 6/1. Village Vic (E/W if 9/2+)
