14:45 Aintree Forgotten Gold has a lovely little opportunity to start the winter season off with a win. This horse goes well fresh, as can be seen when winning a 3M 2F race at Wincanton in October 2015 after 6 months off. He has also won on return at Ascot in April after 3 months off so a break from racing isn’t something that should put you off. Forgotten Gold runs his best form on Good or Good to Soft ground which is currently the going. With good ground forecast, this should play right into his hands. Add his perfect distance into the equation (3M 1F) and we really should have ourselves a winner. A.P Heskin is the jockey taking the reigns, he has two wins under his belt in the last 2 weeks so brings some healthy confidence onboard. A couple of dangers in the race include Double Ross and Eastlake who both bring a Last time out win to the table. The former is top weight, albeit he has a very capable claimer Ryan Hatch on board, but may just find the extra 2F a step too far (finished 9th on last 2 races at 3M). Eastlake won a cracking race at Aintree on his last outing on Soft ground over a shorter distance. It’s highly unlikely he will be fit enough to win this, especially as we are looking at a much further distance. Forgotten Gold (E/W)
15:30 Wincanton Im In Charge turns up to Wincanton with some solid form to his name. He’s had two runs this month with the former run a 6 length win at 12/1. This was over a shorter journey and the smaller obstacles, but this was backed up with a solid 2nd on a return over fences. He was no match for the Paul Nicholls trained Presenting Man that day but that horse will be a better class of horse than this. This may turn out to be a proper grind as the race is 3M 3F, but Im In Charge has won over 3M 1F back in May where he beat the favourite Azure Fly by a huge 26 lengths, so there are no worries about his stamina. In fact the longer the distance the better he should go. The forecast is dry with sunny spells for Wincanton which means conditions couldn’t be better, most of the horses victories have come on good to firm ground, which is the current going. Miss Serious leads the danger of the opposing horses, with itself bringing some solid form to the table. But falling last time out will always bring its concerns as it’s a guess how the horse will recover from this, especially as this occured just five days ago. Im In Charge (WIN)
16:40 Wincanton Billy My Boy looks like a horse that is going the right way and definitely worth keeping onside. 3rd favourite in the market, with a huge positive and one of the most important points is that he receives over 1 stone in weight from the two in the market, this could prove hugely pivotal on the run in. He’s shown a tremendous attitude to come back from unseating Giles Hawkins on his comeback run this year with two placed efforts. Improved further with a third at Exeter where he only finished 2 and 3/4 lengths behind the winner. The ground and distance is set up very nicely for Billy My Boy with all this horses best work coming over 2M on good to firm ground. The front two in the market are there for good reason as they both boast very good form coming into the race. Courtlands Prince is coming back from a break and may just need the run to get match fit once again (Courtlands Prince is definitely one for your horse racing tracker though!). Alberta hasn’t run over obstacles since May so is another who may just need the run to get back into top stride. Billy My Boy (E/W if 9/2+)
