START THE DAY OFF DREAMING

13:55 Ascot

The first of nine races on ITV this Saturday sees us tackle this ultra competitive fillies handicap.

I felt Separate had been wanting further than a mile for a while now and her seasonal reappearance suggested it again. She couldn't quicken but stayed on well in the final furlong.

Hold First needs to prove she can transfer the all-weather form to turf.

Lights On won nicely at Nottingham last time but I think she's a bit vulnerable against this better opposition.

Personally I think Dreamloper has the ability to claim success now back up to a mile on a straight course. She was too keen over 7f on seasonal reappearance but she should have a confirmed front runner here in Poet's Lady which should help her settle. She won at Ascot over the straight mile last September running to an RPR of 95. That run at Haydock a few weeks ago was an improvement on RPR figures so there's plenty to suggest she'll improve even further this season. Ed Walker's yard are in form and he has a 27% Strike Rate at Ascot with 3yo's, showing profit of +14.83 to one pound level stakes. DREAMLOPER (WIN)
