RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (WEDNESDAY)

14:25 Chester Aidan O’Brien has saddled five of the last ten winners of this and arrives at the Roodee in flying form, having landed both the 1000 and 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. Represented here by the lightly raced, Secret Thoughts, one suspects a very big run is on the cards. Her fifth behind Lady Kaya at Leopardstown last time looks a strong piece of form given the latter performed with such credit in the Guineas and this step up in trip looks certain to suit. Manuela De Vega impressed with her attitude when grinding it out at Pontefract last October, she left the strong impression she would relish further this season and this trip looks perfect. Gosden pair, Mehdaayih and Fanny Logan look capable of playing a part although it is the unbeaten, Manuela De Vega who is taken to score.  MANUELA DE VEGA (WIN)

18:25 Gowran Park  A whopping twenty seven runners and scheduled to lineup in the third race at Gowran this evening so most of you will think we’re crazy to give a horse in such a competitive affair. Never the less Ingleby Mackenzie looks to be a sleeper in the rough and could potentially pounce at what may be a big price. A poor return to action last month can be forgiven after a winter layoff on ground that clearly doesn’t suit. A return to much better ground (All 5 of his wins have come on good ground) and a step up in trip look to be of huge benefit. A trio of runs over hurdles in which he didn’t finish out of the top three showed he still holds ability and although his handicap mark may be a tad high he fits the criteria for a bold showing.  There’s a multitude of opposition in a race of this nature but the likes of Bobby Jean, Mastermind and Athenry Boy have obvious chances. The Joseph O’Brien trained Lustful deserves respect if not for connections alone however without a run since October fitness could be an issue.  With the addition of blinkers for the first time you can also expect a decent run from the Eddie Lynam trained Giorni Felice who did well to grab an encouraging third last time out.  INGLEBY MACKENZIE (WIN)
