RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (TUESDAY)

17:55 Brighton

Lesser known trainer Julia Feilden doesn’t have the string of horses some major trainers have at their disposal however with the limited resources she does have she’s been able to work wonders. Operating at a 20% strike rate in recent weeks and with two victories in its last two runs it’s easy to see why her runner Limerick Lord is likely to enter the stalls as favourite. The negative however is that after sixteen attempts on grass the six year old is yet to taste success on turf.

Course and distance winners Lutine Charlie, Corporal Maddox and Indus Valley all have outside chances but as the trio are all in the twilight of their careers at the age of eleven it’s difficult to see them being able to wind the clock back enough for any to find their head in front come the winning line.

I’m left to opt for an alternative course and distance winner in the form the five year old Ettie Hart. Trainer Mick Channon has bagged eight winners in the past fortnight and has his horses running exceptionally well. The horse hasn’t won since June 2016 however that was in a race under today’s conditions. With ground to suit and a whopping eleven pounds less weight to carry expect a big run from this mare.
