RACE PREVIEW & TIPS (FRIDAY)

13:50 Sandown

What could of been a tricky handicap for Beyond Equal at Bath in testing company ended up as a straightforward two length winning margin in the days closer.

Realistically it should and could of been a wider margin if pressed. The result is a generous mark to work from and a horse that looks like he has more to give.

Oisin Murphy rides the inconsistent Swiss Knight who, in terms of ratings, is the danger horse. It’s hard to forgive the last run where there was no excuses for what resulted in a poor effort for the Williams trained horse.

Miracle of Medinah also looks handy after a striking return from a long lay out but ultimately it’s the form of Beyond Equal that catches the eye. If his previous run is an indication of his talent, there’s a lot more to come from this horse, who may still be unexposed on the flat.

BEYOND EQUAL (WIN)

20:20 Beverley

A bit of a cavalry charge awaits in the penultimate race of the evening at Beverley however that’s not enough to put us off selecting the Paul Midgley trained Twentysvnthlancers. Somewhat disappointing in his latest turf runs but his most recent all-weather efforts have shown he still retains a decent level of ability. A return to Beverley where he has been successful at before and the return of jockey Paul Mulrennan are both positive changes and now residing at a lower weight than he was last successful at should all point towards a much better effort from the six year old.

Fellow course and distance winners Ginger Jam and Pearl Noir have great chances as does Indian Pursuit who went close last time out.

At a bigger price maiden War Ensign could have enough in the locker to throw up a potential shock, not as a guaranteed winner but a possible lightly outsider who could sneak into a place for those looking for each-way value.
