PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)

14:35 Clonmel

We start our days preview’s over in Ireland with a novice hurdle. Willie Mullins won this event last year and it looks like he has two very useful novices in this with both Measureofmydreams and Roi Des Francs looking Cheltenham bound, the former kept on well to win last time out but the conditions today may not suit, the latter looks more promising, even though this looks tougher than his latest win he looks a progressive horse and this is the type of race he needs if he is going to deal with the Cheltenham festival entry.

The biggest danger looks to be from Kauto Grand Mogol; he is taking a big step up in grade for this, but it’s not within his reach as he won easily last time out in testing conditions he is also another that looks to be going to Cheltenham and this race could give us a good insight for what the festival has to offer.

Roi Des Francs (WIN)

15:25 Ffos Las

We head to Wales for our second preview, a three mile handicap hurdle. Cash Injection and Ifyouthinkso look the two early favourites here and even though they both ran very well last time out with the former gaining his second win within a month they both look to have been harshly treated by the handicapper and may find a tougher task.

The two that stand out for me are Always Bold and Makethe Mostofnow, the latter has been pulled up twice on his latest two outings but is now down to a very low mark and the step down in grade also looks a positive and he should make his presence felt in this, the former looks to be on a very low mark returning back to timber after going chasing and with his seven pound claim on board he looks better handicapped than most and should be in the mix in the final stages.

Always Bold (E/W)

15:35 Southwell

We take to the fibresand for our final preview of the day.  When first looking at this race I couldn’t stop looking at Colonel Mak as he is on such a low mark to what he usually races off and such a high price but as this race looks to become a seven runner race and he usually needs a few races to get race fit I have to look elsewhere.

Westminster looks the obvious choice as he beat both Kung Hei Fat Choy and Pretty bubbles over course and distance at the beginning of the year and both have since gone on to win, they both come here on better terms today especially Pretty Bubbles who seems to be slightly better treated than the other two/

Time And Place makes his fibresand debut and could throw a spanner in the works if bringing his past form here today.

Khajaaly is another worth keeping an eye on in the market as he usually comes good this time of year and is also another previous course and distance winner.
