16:00 Perth We start what might be a little strange given the heat wave with a two mile chase and seven runners declined.
Honourable Gent comes here as the favourite and rightly so with his form holding on well. He is however very vulnerable off this mark. Beidh Tine Anseo and Bunclody both ran here on Wednesday and would need to be respected if running again.
Wot A Shot is an interesting contender from Irish raider, but he needs to improve as he hasn’t won since 2012.
The selection is Moonlight Maggie, having been running consistently well for the last couple of months. She represents Tom George yard who are well at placing horses. She won last time out at Southwell when not jumping completely fluently and only raised four pounds she should be able to win off this higher mark.

We head to the Irish track for a one mile six contest. When I looked at the early prices for this race, I couldn’t believe Sherlock Holmes was odds against. This twice raced Galileo colt is top rated in this race and in receipt off weight all round given his age. He created a very good impression last time out when eased down. Young Donnocha O’Brien takes the valuable five pounds off and the master of Ballydoyle has found an excellent opportunity for this interesting horse.
The remainder, are jumpers and while fresh should be outclassed by the favourite.
Lindenhurst is the only main danger, won this race last year but needs to defy a year absence and also giving a full stone to Sherlock Holmes.

The last race to preview is a three year old only handicap over a mile and a half. Mark Johnston saddles the favourite and his yard are in fine form banging in winners up and down the country. While this Martiniquaise has a clear and obvious chance. He has a six pound penalty to shoulder but is actually two pounds well in. Paul Mulrennan takes the ride and while he is not the stable first string jockeys picks, he is more than capable. At very short odds I am willing oppose. Leighterton comes from Martyn Meade bang in form stable. He keeps on producing horses that outrun there odds. Yet to finish outside the three and his first two runs have worked out very well. The son of Haling can improve with racing and at this trip and is taken to cause a mini shock.
The remainder will improve and don’t look a bad bunch but will need time and racing.
