14:10 – Newcastle
Keith Reveley couldn’t really be in better form (realistically) as he is on a 50% strike rate currently. He runs Donna’s Pride here in this Novice’s hurdle over 2m 4f and the horse won well the last day over at Catterick and could come good here again. However, this is a much more difficult task and the horse will have to be progressive to beat some of these. The question is do you want to take the trainer’s form on the bare facts.
U Name It comes into this contest with two very decent runs to her name and she could be an improving type. Bar being pulled up at Ayr back in October the horse has run some very credible races at both that track, Carlisle and Kelso. The horse could be a big runner here and one to keep an eye on in the market.
The final one to consider is Mossies Well who will be likely to head the market. The horse may have a fair opening mark and may have to run well here but that cannot be discounted given his win the last day at Ayr. Steven Fox’s 7lb claim is also a massive plus and for the reason he gets the nod to get his head in front again.

15:20 – Wetherby
Some stellar names travel to the Yorkshire track for this meeting and one of them is Noel Fehily. He takes the ride on Charlie Longsdon’s only runner on the card and given the distance travelled and the competition in the race he has a huge chance for a 100% record on the day. Greenlaw comes here weighted 10lbs better off than Big Casino having only gotten her head in front twice in rules races. The yard has had a much quieter year this time around but the chance is taken with this selection to get them into better form.
The aforementioned Big Casino is a big danger and the fact that Sam Twiston is riding for his dad suggests the stable think the horse has a big chance. The horse will appreciate the better ground (he has won on this ground before) and has acted well around the course. Tom Scudamore couldn’t be riding any better at the moment and his charge Vinny Gambini could give the selection another headache. A trappy race could be settled by the quality of the jockeyship on show and I will give the nod to Greenlaw on that basis

15:40 – Newcastle
This handicap hurdle at Newcastle’s Gosforth Park could be a fight out between two horses in terrific form. Montoya’s Son and De Vous A Moi have both been winning recently and have 6 out of 6 in the bag coming into this clash over 2m4f. Two 3lb claimers take the rides and there could be a huge battle towards the end as the horses are rated exactly the same on the official ratings. The natural instinct is to fall down on the side of the horse who has won at this course and distance, Montoya’s Son. The horse has racked up a 4 timer including 2 successive victories at this course. He disposed of Trusting Thomas the last day and at 10 isn’t exactly over the hill.
De Vous A Moi comes here off the back of two creditable victories seeing off the challenge of ‘One for the Boss’ and Royal Macnab’. This form is very decent and at 7 she could be very progressive. Whilst she has not won at this track, it’s not the most demanding and the long run in should see her competitive stamina come to the fore.
Of the remainder And the Man’s form figures are pitiful but the horse has some cracking form around Ayr and has run a decent 2nd at this track. Gleann Na Ndochias has some good fun to his name and could run a big race too.
