MONDAY RACING TIPS

15:27 Plumpton

A weak looking novice handicap hurdle, with lots of moderate horses and only one last time out winner in the field which is Mickyh. He took a similar race at Stratford last week and comes here under a penalty and he has to be considered if turning up in the same form. Good Time Ahead was a reasonable third last time out but this track and trip looks on paper to be too sharp.

Torbellino gets my vote as I feel she is very well handicapped based around her flat form and also her second hurdle start at this track. She finished second to Mark Of Gold and ahead of third placed San Giovanni who looked set to take the maiden hurdle at Newton Abbot on Saturday before getting taken out. She really ought to be up to winning over hurdles and today’s race looks to be very much there for her to take.

TORBELLINO (WIN) 16:40 Kempton

Competitive fare for a class 2, mile handicap with two runners rated above 100 in Intuitive and Pensiero D’Amore. The latter won over C&D on his British debut last month with a strong staying performance when also not getting a clear run, he should go well again up just 3lb if in the same form. I will him take him on though with Raajil, a lightly race 4yo from the Tom Clover yard who is 2/2 for Tom since being bought out of Saeed Bin Suroor’s for 32,000gns. This Awtaad gelding really impressed me the last day at Wolverhampton when despatching a small field in a novice over 7 furlongs and he looked like he will improve again for a step up to a mile which will also suit on breeding.
