I simply can't see COEUR DE LION far off here. Won the Chester plate in 2019 from stall 9 with Thore on board on deep ground. 2 of his 3 flat turf wins have come with Thore on board. The only other time he's raced here apart from the plate he came 2nd.
He won last years Ascot stakes at the Royal meeting off just a 1lbs lower mark. The trip, track, ground, jockey, draw are all a positive.
He won the Plate after a seasonal reappearance at Newbury. He had a prep run there again this year where he stayed on well. When I say he stayed on, he actually flew home. Only 3 other horses ran a quicker 2nd last furlong and only one horse ran a quicker final furlong and that was the winner. Elysian Flame ran a 13.26 final furlong, Coeur ran a 13.29 final furlong. Showed plenty of enthusiasm and cried out to be stepped back up in trip.
Not So Sleepy has raced twice over 2m2f and hasn't stayed.
Falcon Eight and Nate The Great probably want it quicker.
Trumpet Man is ridden by Franny Norton but I'm convinced he wants a galloping track. As you can see I can pull holes in all of these apart from my selection who I think will be hard to beat.
