Bankawi is a prior course and distance winner who was only headed close home when second over slightly further last time out so the return to this course and this trip looks a positive, although likes to get on with things so looks to be the main pace angle in the race and could set things up nicely for our pick Inexplicable who was a fast finishing third over this trip at Wolves when last seen. He had to plot a wide course throughout but was doing his best work at the finish so if transferring that run to the turf could pick off his rivals and take victory here.
Transition has hit the cross bar with a couple of placed efforts from his current mark but the booking of Ben Curtis catches the eye and trainer Joseph Parr has been firing in the winners in recent weeks so is feared, while Antagonise beat three subsequent winners when taking victory at Hamilton in July, however could only manage third from his revised mark at Ayr two weeks later and has been nudged up a little higher since so may have to settle for minor honours..
