A MARVELLOUS TIME TO CATCH COX'S RUNNER

15:35 Ascot

One of many Cavalry charges set to take place under the ITV camera’s this Saturday and I hope two former course and distance winners can make a return trip to Ascot’s winners enclosure.

A winner of this race back in 2019 Tis Marvellous aims to recapture his crown and despite not tasting success since a five runner Class 3 event at Leicester you’d be foolish to discredit his chances. A former Group 2 winner who finished a very creditable 4th in last years King’s Stand he may not be the most prolific of winners but has enough class to put most of these rivals firmly in their place if anywhere near his best.

A fellow seven year old who also has a course and distance victory to their name is the Irish raider Only Spoofing. A much improved performance to finish 4th in a hot handicap at The Curragh last time indicated he was primed for a bold run and today may be the day he strikes. He’s got a fair bit to do at the weights but as the jockeys only ride of the weekend you have to suspect he can do better than some of the bookies may be suggesting.

Of the remainder Significantly is worthy of their spot near the head of the betting and at much bigger odds Count D’Orsay, Nomadic Empire and Blue De Vega look best of the rest.
