A really competitive handicap hurdle to start today off over in Navan. Twenty Three runners are set to go to post and with currently 4/1 the field you may think this is a bad idea. However more runners mean my selection has gone under the radar.
Dara Tango is the current favourite, he was previously off the track for a while and recently made his return on the flat in the UK. Now returning to hurdles after a third place in the fixed brush hurdle and Ruby Walsh booked he looks worthy of favouritism however he is vulnerable to an improver.
The selection comes from Noel Mead’s local yard and this would have been the target for the improving Harvey Logan. He has won his last too races by short distances, which has helped keep his mark down. There is still big improvement to come. His bumper and maiden form is behind grade one winning hurdlers, so with a mark of 118 he should be going really close in this.
A danger from the same ownership as the selection is Roll It Out. I really fancied him the last day at Cork and he was well backed accordingly but never went through with his run. He is another who looks well handicapped.
Off the remainder Jennies Jewel and Pencilhimin would be interesting, both having won last time out in preparation for today.

The next race on the card is an interesting beginners chase over two miles one. Jarry D’Honneur is the current favourite, he makes his debut over in Ireland after winning three hurdle races in France. Its easy to see why he is favourite however he is not for me given the price.
The selection is Champagne James for Ted Walsh and owner Barry Connell, This horse finish second behind subsequent Drinmore winner Valseur Lido last time out despite having an issue with his spine. That has now been rectified which will bring about improvement in his jumping. A reproduction of his last run would nearly be good enough.
Dysios finished fourth behind Vautour over course and distance. He should run another solid race along with Lots of Memories who needs to be respected after his fourth in a Grade Two Chase.

We remain at Navan for the final selection and remain in Novice chases this one over two mile four furlongs. The Doorman seems to have been well supported and is the current market leader. He won over fences first time out and while he won easily that form was let down yesterday. This appears to be an open contest and The Doorman represents little value.
The selection is Sizing Coal. Henry De Bromhead has had an excellent start to this season, while JJ Burke has shown why the Potts Family hired him to be there retained jockey. He makes his debut today over fences which have looked the plan since day one. He has finished second in three of his five maiden hurdles and should go very close today. Henry always has his horses well schooled with this Presenting gelding already looking a chaser.
Who let the dogs out suffered a blip last time when attempting to complete a hat trick. He will need to improve again to take but would have a good chance if doing so.
The only other horse I can see getting involved is Ravished. He has the potential to win over fences but hasn’t  improved sufficiently
