PADDOCKS PATENT (TUESDAY)

14:50 Southwell

We start our days preview’s with an eleven furlong handicap on the fibresand.

None of these come here with much form but the top weight Tight Lipped and the Mike Appleby’s horse Queen Of Skies have both finished second of their latest outings but both have never been tried at this distance before and the latter doesn’t look suited to this trip at all.

Megamunch won in a weak field here back in March and is another which the trip doesn’t seem to suit after finishing nine and a half lengths behind the winner over course and distance last time out.

Thackeray is down to his lowest mark to date but he has a long absence to deal with but could be a real threat if stripping fit for this today.

My selection has to be with the eight year old On The Cusp; he’s been trying his luck recently at Wolves but seems to do all his winning on this track; he’s another down to a very low mark and should go well today.

15:00 Exeter

We head to the south west for our second preview a three mile and six furlong handicap chase.

Allthekingshorses and Bucks Bond look the two early favourites in the market at present. The latter has been pulled up on his last two runs due to some very bad jumping so too many question marks are attached to him at present. The former was second in this race last year and can run off that same mark again today but he’s been of the track for the last 160 days so fitness could be an issue even though he has proven form over this distance.

Viking Blood is another who was pulled up on his latest outing but that was on heavy ground which didn’t seem to suit him at all and with the ground currently good to soft he’ll relish this better ground and should be back in the mix today.

Adrenalin Flight is seven pounds higher from his previous win around here back in December and is another who will be suited to the trip but he was a beaten favourite last time out after good support in the market but may be a little too high in the weights.

16:30 Southwell

We return back to Southwell for our final preview of the day a seven furlong handicap.

This looks a very wide open affair especially with so many previous course and distance winners coming here today.

Poppy Bond was seeking a hat trick last time out but showed no impression in the final furlong as she was beaten back into third; she may now be in the handicappers grip.

Bognor won twice at this track at the end of last year but has not shown any of that form again on his latest five outings but you never know when he will turn up again and could be one to follow in the market.

Khajaaly seems to love it around here and won over course and distance back in February; he was very slow away last time out and couldn’t make up the ground fast enough to make his presence felt so we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt for that and can see him go in again today.

Reposer is another to note making his fibresand debut as he has some very good form over this distance on the turf and couold be a real danger if taking to the ground.
