WEDNESDAY RACING TIPS

13:55 Bangor-On-Dee

Jonjo O’Neill does well with his chasers at Bangor and runs Pens Man who has a good record at the trip and ran on well for victory at Southwell when last seen in July, however preference is for Midnight Jewel who jumped well and made all when last seen at Footwell earlier in the month, holding off a strong challenge of Easy Bucks who followed up with victory next time out. Lilly Pinchin has struck up a good relationship with the Charlie Longsdon runner, posting results of 121 this season, and after just two runs over the larger obstacles her mount is still open to plenty of improvement so gets the vote here.

MIDNIGHT JEWEL (WIN)

16:39 Catterick

Portelet Bay won well over course and distance when last seen earlier in the month. He’s gone up 3lbs for that effort but has won off this mark before, the partnership with 7lbs claimer Owen Lewis is maintained and he has similar conditions so should make a bold bid for victory today.

Desert Dream also won last time out and has a decent record at the course, although the drop back in trip would be a worry given his best form has come over a minimum of seven furlongs, so the bigger danger looks to be Final Account who is yet to taste victory in thirteen attempts on turf but was a decent second to Portent Bay over course and distance last time out and has only been nudged up 1lbs so is unlikely to be too far away again this time around.
