WEDNESDAY RACING TIPS

16:25 Brighton

Bbob Alula hasn’t always been the most consistent however seems to have finally found his trip, winning well over course and distance in April and backing that up with three further solid efforts on turf including a neck second to De Vegas Kid back here at Brighton in May and excellent second at Yarmouth just last week. He was only beaten a neck, by a rival who has now won three of her last four, and finished almost three lengths clear of third, so looks to have an excellent chance of going one better today racing off the same mark.

On The Nose finally opened her account at the thirteenth time of asking here at Brighton late last month, following up on two placed efforts also here at Brighton, so seemingly likes the course. The form of that recent victory has been franked with the runner-up winning next time out, however those recent efforts have all come over ten furlongs and today sees a drop back to a trip that she has failed to fire over before so while she brings decent form in to the fold she may have to settle for minor honours.

BBOB ALULA (WIN)

17:45 Yarmouth

Kodiac Sign hasn’t been beaten far in either of his last two runs and is partnered with talented apprentice Harry Davies so wouldn’t need to find too much extra to get involved, while Castana Dia has made the frame in all five prior runs at the course and although 4lbs higher than her last winning mark she’s been holding her form well so should be capable of another bold show despite her absolute best form coming over six furlongs.

Dazzling Dan had a productive early 2021, winning over course and distance and following up with three solid placed efforts in tougher races thereafter, however his form took a huge nosedive from that point and he hasn’t beaten a rival home in his last two starts. He’s extremely well treated on old form but given recent runs could just as easily finish last as first so for our selection we turn to Lalania who is a prior course and distance winner who has an excellent record of three wins from four over this trip when racing on turf and arrives here 4lbs below her last winning mark. Trainer William Stone tends to do well at the course and jockey Laura Pearson is operating at a 38% winning strike rate in the last twelve months when riding for the trainer so everything points to a big run from our pick.
