TUESDAY RACING TIPS

15:40 Goodwood

A two mile handicap in which despite only six runners, it looks a competitive affair.

Earlofthecotswolds has been making hay on the all weather after switching codes. His winning run came to an end when he bit off more than he could chew in the Gold Cup. Back in calmer waters here, he could go well.

Master Miliner has an impressive strike rate, he’s also a course and distance winner. The handicapper may be starting to tighten his grip a little though.

Another course and distance winner is Aggagio. He ticks a lot of boxes and seems to be improving.

A chance is taken with Morando. There’s no doubt this represents a drop in grade for this horse and any further easing in the going (thunderstorms forecast) will play massively to his strengths. He hasn’t won for a while but is significantly lower than his last winning mark. If he can last out this longer trip, he could be too good for these even at the age of nine.

17:20 Goodwood

An open looking six furlong handicap where three time course winner Lamplighter will be popular.

He’s reasonably handicapped and won’t mind a little easing in the ground, however there’s one or two in here that may represent better value.

Treacherous looks good for a place. He’s been running constantly well lately without getting the breaks. He likes it here and the handicapper has given him a chance.

A chance is taken with the veteran of the party Pettochside to grab a place at least. A return to six furlongs added to the likely easier ground, it’s not hard to envisage this old boy running a cracker on a course he likes. It looks like there’s still fire in his belly and his mark looks tempting.
