TUESDAY RACING TIPS

15:10 Beverley

Son And Sannie will quite rightly be popular here. He had become well handicapped when winning at Windsor last time and can race again here off the same mark.

Refuge is also a contender for the in form Mick and David Easterby. He does find it difficult to get his head in front, however he’s rarely far away and looks good for a place.

In an attempt to find some value, Tar Heel looks a decent each way angle at a price. A decent two year for Joseph O’Brien in Ireland, he struggled against older sprinters as a three year which is sometimes the case. He moved to Tim Easterby and has taken time to settle, however there were definite signs of hope on his four year old seasonal debut. If Tar Heel can recapture anything like his two year old form here, he’s absolutely thrown in.

18:30 Newcastle

Dragons Will Rise is a decent starting point, he loves it here. Not many negatives to say about his chances, however he is creeping up the weights, but arguably not enough to put a line through him.

Mango Boy is very interesting. A late maturing type, related to some decent winners, and could really take off now as the season progresses.

Hopefully the eight declared runners will remain as Jean Baptiste is the each way selection. He doesn’t always deliver what maybe expected of him, but on a going day, he’s more than capable. You can excuse his run last time in the Thirsk hunt cup, it was a messy affair. Some of his back form stands up really well in the context of this race, and he’s certainly well enough handicapped to get involved.
