THURSDAY FLAT RACING TIPS

16:20 Chelmsford

Tippy Toes made all for a convincing four length victory over course and distance three weeks ago and the runner up has put in another solid placed effort since, so having gone up just 1lbs and with another decent draw in stall three its difficult to see past the Mark Johnston filly in the opener.

The Scottish trainer also runs Baileys Accolade who has improved for each run to date, culminating in a similarly impressive victory at Newcastle earlier in the month. She looks likely to put up a challenge if transferring that form from the tapeta to the polytrack, while Income was last seen competing in a much higher grade so would also have to enter calculations for and in-form trainer and jockey combo, although he is untested on an all-weather surface to date so also comes with some risks attached.

Trumble is unbeaten in three here at Chelmsford, twice over tonight’s trip, and although has gone up a further 7lbs for victory last time out he won with complete authority so looks to have a great chance of notching the hat-trick here.

Mehmento is a Listed winner on turf and has also won twice on the fibresand at Southwell. He has been competing in much higher grades than this and returns from a three month break on the back of a wind op so looks to be the main danger.

Corvair has become expensive to follow since winning three in a row in late 2019/early 2020 but all of those victories came on an all-weather surface and a change of stable could help to see him re-ignite his career so he can’t be dismissed.
