13:25 Lingfield We head to Lingfield for all of today’s picks with the first selection running in the 13:25. A Class 3 Conditions stakes ran over a mile. Emell is the pick here, highly tried this autumn he comes here after a recent run this month at Kempton. Finishing last that day he takes a further drop in class and at the weights he looks to have a good chance of adding to his sole maiden success. His efforts in listed and Group Company are far from disappointing with his best effort coming in the celebration mile at Goodwood. On his only run here he finished strongly over 7 furlongs in a listed contest which gives hope that a mile here will be to his liking. Ingleby Angel looks to be the one to beat here, Finishing close behind in third at Kempton in the same race as Emell. He was carrying 11Lb less than Emell that day and today they run off an equal weight and for that reason I really don’t see him getting the better of the selection. Edu Querido is another who has raced at the highest level this year, but he will probably need a run before he becomes competitive after having 146 days off. Emell (WIN)
14:00 Lingfield The second selection runs in the Class 2 Handicap at 14:00. A mile and four furlongs is the trip here and all eyes will be on the Charlie Appleby trained Anglophile who comes here on the back of a tidy looking victory at Kempton last time out. Very progressive he has only been raised 5lb and with an ultra-consistent profile it will take a well handicapped horse to beat him. His main rival looks to be the David Simcock trained Castilo Del Diablo ridden by Adam Kirby, The booking of which certainly takes the eye. Staying on despite being hampered over course and distance last time, he looks to have major claims if staying out of trouble with the extra distance favourable as demonstrated when winning here in January. Those two are hard to split and they will possible try and outwit each other which ultimately could cost both horses and for that reason I look for an each way angle here. Viewpoint will be the selection, running well last time at Kempton he is another who will appreciate this longer trip. George Baker is a positive booking and with plenty of course form in addition to two victories here he looks to be the one who can beat the market principles. He has not been beaten more than 2 ¾ length when tackling this trip here and he should make the frame if not putting his head in front on the line. 15:40 Lingfield For the final selection of today we head to the Final race of Lingfield’s meeting the 15:40. A Class 6 Handicap ran over a mile and four furlongs. The selection here is the George Baker trained Loving Your Work. A horse I selected a fortnight ago. I give him another chance today, as when defeated last time here over this trip, he was slightly detached and with the winner that day following up again recently he probably wouldn’t have won on that occasion even if being closer to the pace. He wears a Visor today for the first time and if that brings out some improvement I would think he will be hard to beat. He has ran well here over this trip and only has an extra 2lb to find on that form and based on his Newbury win he looks on a good mark today. Pink And Black went close last time at Kempton. He’s very lightly raced and runs of the same mark here. If he repeats that effort he should easily make the frame. Of the remainder the William Haggas trained Tohaveandtohold would be no surprise winner here and the step up in trip could well be the key. Any market support should be noted and a first three finish looks highly likely Loving Your Work (WIN)
