Ask Paddy runs well here and looks sure to run his race, but still looks a little high in the weights.

Captain Moirette drops in class here and holds a big chance, he will enjoy better going.

Caventara, not for the first time gets my vote in this race. On the whole he has looked disappointing, but there have been glimpses on more than a couple of times in previous races that this horse has a bigger performance in him.

CAVENTARA (WIN)

16:00 Newcastle

A staying handicap kicks off precedings at Newcastle, with many of the field course winners.

Stargazer is one of those and looks to be returning to form, while Who Dares Wins, the admirable dual purpose campaigner rarely runs a bad race and looks sure to be in the shake up.

Carnwennan is the selection here. Seems to save his best for Newcastle and a true test at the distance will be ideal for him today.
