PADDOCKS PATENT (MONDAY)

14:50 Wolverhampton Fitz Flyer led from start to finish to win by an impressive three and a half lengths here last month. He has now won two from six on the all-weather and has been raised just 2lbs for this latest victory. Talented apprentice jockey Anna Hesketh keeps the partnership intact for todays’ race and with a similar run expected today they should be tough to beat. Hamoody looks likely to head the dangers, an experienced and versatile sprinter with a 31% win rate over todays’ trip and a 50% win rate here at Wolves. He hasn’t won since notching up a double in May and could only finish sixth on his last run but is a capable performer if arriving in the right mood. Of the remainder, Profile Star is a previous course and distance winner but, since winning at Lingfield in March, has finished closer to last than first in seven subsequent races so arrives here needing to find a bit of form. Fitz Flyer (WIN)

15:20 Wolverhampton We stay at Wolves for our second race of the day, a class four handicap over six furlongs. With a 75% win rate over todays’ race distance Sleep Walk is likely to prove popular with punters and is the forecast early favourite. She could only manage fourth place on her only previous run on an all-weather track but bounced back with an impressive three length victory on turf at Bath in September and has been raised 10lb for her troubles. There is the possibility that the rise will not be enough to stop her progressing but her form on turf so far hasn’t transferred to the all-weather so she is passed over in favour of Dissent. Dissent has finished in the top three places in over 50% of his career starts on the all-weather and has a 37.5% win rate over todays’ trip. Jockey Connor Beasley has a 33% win rate here at Wolves and his 3lb claim means that Dissent is effectively just 3lbs higher than his last winning mark. Dissent (E/W)

16:25 Wolverhampton Tayma was an impressive winner over course and distance on Friday, finishing two lengths clear despite being eased down coming up to the finish. She has a 6lb penalty to carry for that victory but has looked a much better prospect since switching to the tapeta surface and stepping up in trip so should be able to continue progressing here. Coillte Cailin is another who arrives on the back of a recent course and distance win but had to work much harder, only just managing to hold on for the win by a short head.  This was her first win in eight attempts here at Wolves and with a 6lb penalty to contend with she looks unlikely to complete the double today. At a likely larger price Exclusive Waters is also worthy of a mention, having finished eight of thirteen races in the top three places when running on all-weather tracks. He has been quite highly raced on turf over the summer but is an interesting contender if he handles the tapeta surface as well as other all-weather tracks. Tayma (WIN)
