MONDAY RACING TIPS

15:15 Wolverhampton

A weak classified stakes on a Monday at Wolverhampton may not set many pulses racing but these races still can provide opportunities for finding a winner. Marchetti will likely be towards the top of the market and this drop in trip back to 7 furlongs will suit after not seeing out the mile at Kempton last time out. Royal Heart also falls into the same category about this step back in trip and both of these runners will not be far away.

Hey Pretty has not had a lot of racing in the past two years but comes into to this after a good run last time out over C&D 10 days ago. That race was a handicap and stepping into a classified today he will be slightly wrong at the weights but unlike many he is in form. The major benefit for Hey Pretty today for me is the much better draw, having been drawn in the outside stall 10 days ago. Breaking smartly to lead he perhaps just had to use up too much energy early that he hopefully won’t have to do today and should see him finish stronger.

HEY PRETTY (E/W)

15:45 Wolverhampton

Another race over the 7 furlongs at Wolverhampton this time it is a fillies handicap, Scott Dixon trains on the track and his Rose Fandango will likely be popular amongst the punters as she is a C&D winner. Dropping back to this trip now after finishing runner up over the mile at Haydock last time out, the only thing that will be against her is the fact she is now 7lb higher than that win and that could be enough to see her come up short.

Citrus Grove is one of my horses to follow this flat season, things didn’t quite go to plan perhaps in her first three starts. This though may prove to be a benefit to her now though as she steps into handicaps off an appealing mark of 70. She is a homebred for the owners from a family that they have done exceptionally well with along with the trainer James Fanshawe. Fanshawe himself has hit form of late and this filly could take top honours today.
