MONDAY RACING TIPS

18:25 Windsor

The third race on the card at Windsor tonight is a very valuable sprint handicap and with many of these runners having met before, not many secrets are held.Colombe has raced almost exclusively at the minimum trip and goes up to six furlongs today. The filly had beaten Live In The Moment over five furlongs here earlier in the summer, though with the latter running on strongly that day - I am predicting that Adam West’s gelding can reverse the form here.Cuban Breeze has had a very busy 2022. She has won four times this year and has risen 21lbs in the weights as a result. This is her first time stepping into handicap company of the highest level though and she may just find a couple too good today.Indian Creak won a similar contest back in June when he had both Danzeno and Sterling Knight in behind. He had a very luckless run at Goodwood last week when keeping on behind the impressive Lord Riddiford and I am taking him, with SDS aboard, to gain compensation here.

INDIAN CREAK (E/W)

20:00 Windsor

The penultimate race on the card today is a very competitive middle distance handicap with a few good chances.Top weight Eton Blue will be very popular having scored over course and distance earlier this year. The handicapper is now starting to relent with him, but he may need to drop a few lbs further before he is to be of interest in a race like this.Millie Miglia had looked impressive in winning at Newmarket last year. The step up in trip hasn’t really worked for her though and it’s no surprise to see her dropped back to a mile and a quarter here today. She will probably be quite popular for this event but she is likely to be quite short in the market and has to prove that it is the distance that has curbed her progress so I’m siding with a safer option here. The horse I’m selecting here is the very consistent Charlie Arthur. He’s been very carefully raced over the summer and has been exploiting a lower turf mark. It’s very possible that he still has more mileage in this mark and the drop in distance should see him to better effect too.
