The first write up of the day comes in the Paddy Power Dial A Bet Chase, a grade one over two miles one furlong. Uxizandre is the favourite and based on his last run at Cheltenham in the Sholer chase he should take all the beating. Since placing at the Cheltenham festival he looked a Ryanair type with middle distances looking optimum. However dropped in trip last time out he made all and jumped superbly all the way round. The course shouldn’t cause any issues and while short enough in the market for this competitive field if getting in the same rhythm he will be hard to beat. Balleycasey for the inform Mullins yard takes a market drop in trip. However at around 5/2 he is far too short in the market. In my opinion this horse is trip less as he is too slow over two miles and doesn’t stay three miles. He looks most affective over middle trips but his jumping is also not 100%. The same can be said for hidden Cyclone who has fallen on his last two starts and has something to prove .
Off the remainder the ground will have probably gone against Sizing Europe by post time tomorrow with rain still falling heavily in the Dublin area and pushing thirteen should find this too much. Mention must go to Bright New Dawn who makes his seasonal return. It’s Internet he is put in at this high level and could go well at a price after a nice novice campaign last year.

The next Grade One on the card is the Future Champion Novice Hurdle. Small and select field stand there ground over the minimum distance trying to emulate The Tullow Tank who won so impressively last term.
Willie Mullins has the favourite in Nichols Canyon. Winner on his first two starts over the timber, last time taken advantage of Allez Combellierz pulling up injured. Currently around 8/13 it seems a bit short but is a promising sort who needs to be respected.
Golantilla finished third in the 2013 Champion Bumper missed last season novice hurdles to have another go. While he didn’t run as well it could be argued last year was a stronger renewal. Barry Connell horse made a decent start over hurdles however he is thrown in the depend here and without obvious market support is overlooked.
McKinley and Sizing John are both decent yardsticks but are fairly exposed and are vulnerable here.
Selection is Sub Lieutenant for the team of Hughes, Cooper and Gigginstown. He has excellent bumper form behind the likes of Very Wood and Fletchers Flyer. He looks overpriced at around 6/1. Unbeaten over hurdles he should continue to improve and proved Gigginstown with another grade one.

A tricky handicap over two miles is the next race to preview. The current forecast favourite is Busted Tycoon. With connections very shrewd and Ruby Walsh booked he should go well. However given that he has not been seen since the 2013 Galway Festival when he won three in a week and could have anything in hand. Market support would be a key indicator of how connection rate his chance.
Issue here is that Ted Veale ran on Friday. Taken that he will not be taken his chance here we will only have minimum fifteen runners.
Black Spot On is an interesting with Bryan Cooper booked. He has been in excellent form over his last three runs. However now over ten pounds higher than last winning mark will need to put up a personal best. He rates the main danger to the selection who is Pivot Bridge.
He finished second last time when mistakes cost him victory. If his jumping has improved and some natural progression should see him run a big race. Andrew Lynch is a good jockey booking. The ground will be in his favour and is still unexposed over obstacles.
Off the remainder. Ned Buntline is a thoroughly frustrating type and needs everything to fall right for him. McCoy is booked and is undoubtedly talented. Forsters Cross is getting on bus put up a personal best last time. This is much harder than last week at Thurles but appears to be in the form of his life.
Rock Of The World is probably the most unexposed horse in the race and ran with some credit last time out on handicap debut. He should be fighting out the finish in the ultra competitive field.
