RACE TRENDS
Use Stats From Former National Winners To Help You Find 2022's Victor.

AGE
Since 1995 only one horse outside of the age range between 8 to 11 years old has won the race. Look for a horse within that age range.

EXPERIENCE
Every winner in the past decade had at least ten previous chase career starts.
Find a horse with the relevant experience over these bigger obstacles.

BREEDING
16 of the last 21 winners were bred in Ireland although not necessarily trained on the Emerald Isle. Find horses born on the opposite side of the Irish Sea.

STAMINA
27 of the last 30 Grand National winners won at least one chase over three miles or further. Make sure you select a horse who's got winning experience over a longer trip.

CLASS
Since the turn of the century, every Grand National winner bar one had been at least placed in a Grade 3 contest or higher.

RACE READY
28 of the last 29 winners ran within the previous 55 days, while 23 of the last 29 ran within 34 days. Avoid horses with a lengthy absence prior to the race.
