The lightly raced Ice Cool Champs looks to tick a fair few boxes and deserves his spot as the favourite but a fair enough run last time out is followed by a huge step up in trip. The horse may improve for the hike in trip but there’s still a few question marks he’s yet to answer so we’re on the hunt for value elsewhere.
Beast Of Burden was hotly touted as having the potential to be a top class horse but that promise as a youngster has never been fulfilled. A disappointing career to date saw the horse change hands to top trainer Dan Skelton and if he can unlock the eight year old’s potential will see a very good run. That being said however a lot is to be taken on trust with various if’s and but’s being pinned to Skeltons charge.
At a bigger price we’re opting with a horse who will relish this testing ground, comes from a yard who’ve bagged a handful of winners over the past two weeks and should strip fitter for their season reappearance. Eminent Poet is hard to catch right but more often than not will put in a good effort. Not guaranteed to find victory here but if the eight that are set to run all take part then an each way bet to finish in the top three looks very tempting.
