Beringer showed a touch of class when comfortably winning a race at Leicester last time out and certainly deserves his slot as favourite but a six pound penalty against better opposition makes this a tougher task and an each way selection looks a better option.

It’s not often Ryan Moore rides a horse at a big price but I feel the bookies are overlooking Soldiers Bay’s chances. A return to a handicap mark where he displayed his most promising effort to date will aid his chances and a step up to ten furlongs should also help. Trainer Brian Meehan has grabbed a couple of winners recently so the yard are doing well.

Hopefully we can make the most of the bookies oversight and find a horse worth backing for place money.
