    SUNDAY WEEKENDER

12:50 Kelso We start the day over at Kelso for an intriguing Novice Chase over just shy of three miles. I Need Gold is the market leader and won easily first time up. However given the form of the McCain yard I’m willing to overlook the favourite here. The selection is Oscar Rock who was very disappointing over hurdles despite having a big reputation. The change to fences should bring massive improvement. Jefferson should have him schooled well and Brian Hughes has been r

    TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

13:30 Aintree We start the day off with a race over the most famous fences in jumps racing as we tackle what is seen as the mini-national The Becher Chase. Personally I have a decent enough record of tipping winners over this course, especially Mon Mome who won The National a few years back at 100/1. We wont see any runners at that sort of price but we’ll see what we can do to unearth a winner. With twenty five runners going to post it is still very much a lottery but one

    TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

13:50 Newbury We start our Channel 4 previews with a handicap hurdle. This looks a very wide open race with a couple of these making a good start to the new jump season. Hammersly Lake and Silsol look to be the two favourites here. Both have produced a couple of good runs on their latest outings with the latter now chasing his hat-trick, he has been place in six of his seven runs and if he continues to improve the way he is he’ll be a hard one to catch today. The former fell
