WINDSOR CAN CAPTURE CLONMEL CROWN

15:35 Clonmel

Obviously a big field handicap chase like this in Ireland is always, by its nature, going to be super competitive and this two and a half mile contest is no different.

Big time owner JP McManus owns four of the potential runners and he finds two in the form of Weihnachts and Fox Le Bel currently vying for favouritism. Although the green and gold silks demand a tonne of respect I’m looking elsewhere. Spancil Hill and An Marcach look to have very viable chances however it’s former course and distance winner DOUBLE WINDSOR who gets my vote. He's already attracted some support in the market this morning backed down from 20/1 to 16/1. It’s interesting to see that jockey Sean Flanagan climbs aboard, a jockey who's won when climbing aboard on three previous occasions. The eight year old has a great record chasing here at Clonmel and finds himself just one pound higher than his last winning mark. With such course form and an interesting jockey booking he looks worth an each way punt.
