Poet’s Magic has been the model of consistency this season. If you’re a placepot player it’s easy to see why he’d be a popular selection. However most of his lastest runs have been on flat speed tracks, this will be a different test up the stiff climb here, also there could be some much better handicapped horses in this line up.
Chookie Dunedin is back down to his last winning mark which was in April this year. Possibly the all weather suits him best, but on his last two turf starts, his turn might not be far away.
The selection is Tommy Taylor. I feel this horse is going to attract a lot of attention in the market, which is understandable given his profile. Given this he might not end up much value come post time. This horse started in England but has been plying his trade over the Irish Sea for a while. He’s back in England now based with red hot up and coming trainer Grant Tuer. Combine that with the fact this horse is now rated 78 from a career high of 107, he may simply be way too good.
