WEDNESDAY RACING TIPS

14:25 Newbury

Mascat won on his debut and was a creditable third last time out. He makes his handicap debut under the inform Thomas Doggrell, who will be flying high after his 40/1 victory yesterday. He has a nice weight and conditions shouldn’t be a problem. However, he drops back down to two miles, after staying on over 2m 4f at Wincanton. He seems best left watched today.

Fine Casting has won over course and distance, and at this level, before. He won well at Ffos Las, last time out, when pulling clear with another rival. He looks progressive and looks well treated on his handicapping debut. However, he’s yet to win on this sort of ground and his last two races have come on heavy ground.

Chanceux has won easily on both his hurdle starts, over two miles. He’s been handed a nice weight on his handicapping debut. Connections are running well and he will relish the two miles around Exeter. Moreover, he won’t have a problem with the ground and might well complete the hat trick today.

CHANCEUX (WIN) 19:35 Southwell

Invincible Larne won at Wolverhampton, over six furlongs, on his debut. He hasn’t been disgraced on his subsequent appearances but is yet to find the winners enclosure again. He has a decent weight and drops down in class today. However, he’s yet to win at this course and isn’t exactly consistent over six furlongs.

If You Dare has won over course and distance on the fibresand and he drops back down in trip today, after placing over seven furlongs. Johnson and Fanning are in decent form, as ever, and command respect around Southwell. That being said, he’s yet to win off this handicap and there’s no guarantee that he will enjoy the step back down to six furlongs, over a sharp Southwell track.

Kind Review has top weight but that is lessened by Ella McCain’s five pounds claim. He won over course and distance last time out and has a nice record on the All-Weather surface. He makes his first start for Tim Easterby today, having previously been with Tracy Waggott. He posted a career best performance a month ago and has a few markers to do so again.
