Royal Fleet was last seen winning a Group 3 race at Meydan in February, rallying after being headed to get back up right on the line. That was his first attempt over ten furlongs and he passed the test with flying colours and given he’s won on return from a break before he should be capable of returning to action with a victory here.
Cadillac won a couple of Group races when trained in Ireland and his last three runs at Listed level have produced results of 122. He’s also proven at the trip so needs to be considered on first run for George Boughey, although may be best watched considering all career wins have come on faster surfaces.
Sinjaari has been campaigned over a mile so far this season but does have winning form over this longer trip, although like Cadillac has produced his best on good or good-to firm ground.

Monsieur Co hasn’t won in almost two years and has failed to beat a rival in his last two runs, albeit those came on the flat rather than over fences like he will encounter today. He’s previously won at Class 3 level and off marks as high as 121 so if the switch in codes sparks a revival he could be a danger to all.
Going Mobile won well at Hexham last time out and has only gone up 4lbs, however recent career wins have all come over shorter trips than today and also on faster ground so preference is for Izzy’s Champion who has his optimum trip and conditions, races off a career low mark and is trained by Lucinda Russell who has won three of the last four renewals of this race.

A competitive eight runner handicap over a mile and a quarter.
American Flag looks to have an obvious chance here. He achieved a mark of 80 after running in three above average maidens before being slightly disappointing on handicap debut at Haydock. However his latest run finishing second at Salisbury was a much improved effort. This long straight should suit, and he certainly be involved at the business end.
Apart from one moderate run on the all weather, Cubana Habana is progressive. He certainly has a place chance.
The selection is Strawman to offer a little value. He was an impressive winner here four starts ago and is only a pound higher today. There’s every chance this five year old gelding has a few bigger performances in the locker before the handicapper nails him. Hopefully with a decent pace to aim at he will add another course victory to his name.

Twelve go to post for a seven furlong handicap, where a few exposed types go head to head.
Magical Effect is one of those. He’s entering the veteran stage of his career at ten, however he’s still performing well, albeit off a lower mark than his prime. There’s no obvious reason why he shouldn’t be thereabouts.
Athollblair Boy is another aging handicapper who doesn’t owe his connections anything. He a consistent performer and is feasibly handicapped.
A chance is taken on a less exposed type, however you do have to forgive a deplorable run last time. Gold Splash went into his handicap debut off what looked a decent mark after showing some ability in maidens. For whatever reason he showed precisely nothing, but with a decent pedigree and running in a moderate handicap, it’s worth taking another chance on him to prove that was just a blip.
