Brief Ambition is two from two since going over the larger obstacles, following up a facile victory at Kempton with a win in a two-runner affair at Ludlow in November, giving over a stone in weight to his rival and putting in a couple of sketchy jumps due mainly to the ambling nature of the race but nevertheless in command throughout. He’s had a break since but returns with optimum conditions and should be capable of notching the hat-trick.
Burrows Diamond also arrives here on a hat-trick after victories at Newcastle and Uttoxeter, beating a subsequent winner with ease last time out. This looks a slightly better race and she has to carry 8lbs more but is clearly thriving at present so looks the main danger, although Soldier Of Destiny could also enter calculations now dropped back in trip.

Fontanie Ellissi finished ahead of Timberman when they met at Taunton last month and it is the former who looks most likely to get involved again given the weights and the prior course victory to his name, while Coolnaugh Haze was a reasonable third on handicap debut over course and distance in February, building on a Plumpton victory in maiden company the month before, and gets weight from all rivals. Both look capable of making their presence felt, however for the winner we turn to The Grey Falco who races for local trainer Alastair Ralph and should appreciate the drop back in trip having failed to see out the longer trip when last seen at Bangor earlier in the month.
