Suffrajet was beaten half a length on her debut at Doncaster, over a mile, and she’s the pick of those with form. She’s open to improvement and will be suited by conditions. However, Mark Johnson isn’t enjoying a fine run of things lately and there is the chance that Suffrajet might find this extra half a furlong taxing. Especially after coming off a fine run, just shy of two weeks ago. She could be an opposable favourite.
Mimikyu represents leading connections and is a full sister to the Group One winning Journey, who was also represented by the same connections. Moreover, she’s a full sister to last year’s Fillies’ Mike runner up, Indigo Girl. As enticing as this may sound, Journey needed further than a mile and half a furlong and it seems Indigo Girl might follow suit. She’s definitely an interesting participant and I wouldn’t be surprised to see her run well.
Queen Of Comedy is a half sister to many winners and a full sister to the talented King Of Comedy, who never hit the heights he should have done. He always seemed to prefer racing at a distance around a mile, which bodes well for his sister. Ed Walker is in decent enough form and Hayley Turner is in very good form, whilst boasting a 20% strike rate at Nottingham, this year. She’s an unexposed filly who could make her debut a winning one.

Final Gesture hasn’t been given a nice draw but she’s well bred, by the legendary Dubawi by Secret Gesture, who was second in the 2008 renewal of the Oaks. Godolphin runners always warrant intrigue and even more so with Charlie Appleby’s, as he had the best strike rate of any trainer, at Kempton, this month. She warrants respect but against the bad draw and the possibility that the distance maybe on the short side, she could be opposed.
The Sir Michael Stout trained Kirilenko is a Cheveley Park homebred and is favourite for this race. She didn’t have a brilliant race on debut at Newmarket, having a sluggish start and then being denied a clear run. That suggests she could have ran better than she did. Moreover, Hollie Doyle is one of the leading most jockeys at Kempton.
Australian Angel is another homebred, this time by ever present George Strawbridge. Her jockey, David Probert, is also one of the leading most jockeys at Kempton and her trainer, Andrew Balding, currently has a 23% strike rate and sent out a 16-1 winner, on debut at Kempton, two weeks ago. My only concern would be that she’s bred to get further but down the line. She is related to some high level performers, for example, Order Of St George. She’s a nice filly and could be one to give the favourites a run for their money.
