14:52 Goodwood
King Vega shed his maiden tag at Goodwood just over two weeks ago by quite a large margin. He has some good form throughout his races, placing second to subsequent American Grade one winner Yibir and fifth behind a few of these in a Group three, at Salisbury, in August. He has a good weight and seemed to relish the step up in trip here but that being said, this is a harder race.
Migration has been in stellar form this year, winning a competitive handicap at the Ebor festival and another at Glorious Goodwood the time before. He seems versatile, in regards to the ground, so that should be no problem for him. The step up in class shouldn’t be a massive problem but it is worth noting he is unexposed at this level. Moreover, he seemed all out at York and will have to concede some weight to some leading players in this race. He looks to be an opposable favourite.
Perotto has also enjoyed a fine season and posted a career best last time out when finishing a fast finishing fifth in the Celebration Mile at Goodwood. He didn’t get a clear run at all during that race, so he should have been a bit closer than he was. That form puts him way ahead of anyone else in this race and he receives weight from a few in here as well. The only question is whether he’ll stay the mile and two furlongs but if he finishes like he did in the Celebration Mile, then he should do.
