VETERAN TO ROLE BACK THE YEARS AT FAKENHAM

13:55 Fakenham

Golden Whiskey is currently favourite for this Handicap Chase having won very well last week at Ludlow with a front running performance for Evan Williams yard. However the front runner isn’t likely to have it all his own way this time around and with a 7lb penalty for his recent win and the fact he is quickly being turned out again makes me think this horse is there for the taking. Evan Williams horses don't often produce back to back successes either.

My choice would be Aubusson for Lizzie Williams yard who was last seen on New Year’s Eve when claiming 2nd after a bold front running performance this veteran jumped very well and that will be needed as Fakenham is known as one of the hardest jumping courses in Britain. Jockey Chester Williams takes some handy weight (5lb) off the horses back. The stable has only had 1 runner and 1 winner in last 14 days so i would expect another good showing here.

Although a consistent type I just couldn't have Aintree My Dream who has too many 2nds in the form book and has won one race in 18 chase start. He seems a very hard horse to win with but no doubt will be in contention. I think there are too many question marks over the other rivals and I would fully expect to see Golden Whiskey and Aubusson fighting it out at the finish with my selection hopefully having enough to end up in the winner's enclosure.
