VARIAN'S TOY LOOKS ONE TO PLAY WITH

15:20 Ayr

Six runners are scheduled to go to post and all have to be considered in with a chance. Vintager was a dual Group winner for Charlie Appleby and should still be competitive following a 4lbs rise for victory at Windsor last time out, while Maries Diamond should find this an easier assignment having been racing in Group company, although probably needs to improve on what we have seen so far this season.

Volatile Analyst is two from two at Ayr, however both victories came over 6 furlongs and his only prior run over a mile came at York and was a shade disappointing, while Shelir also failed to fire in that same York race but has had two very close seconds when running over a mile this season so could figure.

Nicholas T arrives here in good form and has multiple course and distance victories to his name, although these came earlier in his career and he's perhaps better over further nowadays, so preference is for Tinker Toy who is progressing well, winning three from five including when beating a couple of subsequent winners on his first attempt over a mile at Newcastle in May. His stable have been amongst the winners in recent weeks and they look to have a solid chance of another winner with Tinker Toy here today.
