TWO FOR TONIGHT

The first of two selections from tonight’s evening meeting at Chelmsford where IRISH TIMES looks well placed to produce a solid performance. Although he’s the only course and distance winner in the lineup there’s more to selecting him than that alone. With two victories from five course and distance starts, all of which came with more weight on his back, a return to this track should see him on favourable terms. His three career victories have all come at Chelmsford and it’s great to see P J McDonald booked for the ride.

Sticking to the all-weather and the last race on Tuesday sees a ten furlong handicap where, despite very poor recent form, MURAAQEB could spring a shock. If course form is anything to go off then it’s hard to look elsewhere with the six year old holding form over course and distance that reads - 1141212. He’s now back to below his last winning mark and a return to a more favourable trip all point towards a solid run.
