TV TIPS (THURSDAY) DONCASTER ST LEGER MEETING

13.55 Doncaster Despite the vast quantity of runners this nursery may not be as competitive as it looks and the top weighted Nemoralia is likely to go off a short priced favourite for the Jeremy Noseda yard. A fine second to Ballydoyle two starts back she was odds on at Kempton after and fairly bolted up, Ballydoyle has since won a Group2 race so the form looks fairly strong and despite the short price, it would be desperately disappointing if she wasn’t up to beating these and she is handed the vote. Alpine Dream made a winning debut for the on fire Haggas yard, she is very interesting going forward but her form is a long way below that of the favourite and she can only be respected today. Illegally Blond also went in on debut for Jamie Osborne and is another open to plenty of improvement, she warrants respect as does Our Joy who despite being disappointing so far, has hinted at having a good level of ability. Salvo flopped behind Besharah at Ascot the last day, she had looked decent before that though and on this better ground, down in class she is handed the main danger tag. Nemoralia (WIN)

14:30 Doncaster The second race see’s another big field, unlike the opener however this looks extremely competitive and plenty have chances. Irish challenger Majestic Queen is a dual Group3 winner who has run with huge credit in G2’s and G1’s this term, she has to be the one to beat given her exploits but this is no easy task conceding weight all round and on that premise she is taken on. Fadhaayil beat a good yardstick in Speculative Bid the last day and is another who looks sure to go close today, there has to be reservations about her following up though as she is known to throw the odd stinker in. Mistrusting and Dusky Queen are closely matched and the latter only has a neck to find having not quite managed to catch the Godolphin filly the last day. Despite that, Mistrusting has improved rapidly this term and she can uphold the form and go close, especially now that her yard are firing. Kioshi is as infuriating a horse as any in training and has had more excuses than you could shake a stick at, a disappointing fifth at Goodwood last time she was reported to have struck into herself. She is talented when it all goes her way however and at the prices she makes plenty of each way appeal. Lucky Kristale finally went in the last day after a string of good efforts in defeat, she doesn’t exactly appeal as a sort to follow up for win purposes but at double figure odds she will tempt many. Strong numerous times over 6f it is not surprise connections have decided to have another crack at 7f and based on the overall look of her form, she is handed a vote to run into a place. Lucky Kristale (E/W)

15:05 Doncaster Luca Cumani took last seasons renewal with Silk Sari and has another interesting unexposed type this time around with Koora. A tad disappointing when second in a competitive race at York last time is probably a harsh review but she had looked like winning before looking a little paced. Her breeding strongly suggests she will get the trip today however and Spencer is taken to time it perfectly from the back and nail them all late on. Arabian Comet has rather struggled this term but has faced some daunting tasks, she deserves a mention though and could shock a few if anything like her best. Vive Ma Fille is almost impossible to judge, a good fifth in the Goodwood Cup she really ought to have won when beaten out of sight back at the same venue the last day. Most will probably judge that aforementioned Goodwood Cup run as a flash in the pan but if she were to re-produce it here, she would take the world of beating. Gretchen is a half sister to high class stayers Duncan and Samuel, she showed a most pleasing attitude when winning a nose at Newmarket the last day and is respected as the main danger with the extra yardage looking most likely to suit. Irish challenger Toe The Line has little to prove back against her own sex and the trip will be no issue, it will be interesting to see which way she goes in the market but she has every chance, despite looking one of the more exposed types. Koora (WIN)

15:40 Doncaster Another huge field to end the televised races and another that is going to take some solving. Dean Ivory’s Twin Sails badly disappointed at Newbury last time having previously ran a cracker in a Group2 at Goodwood before that. Connections reported he hated the ground and that he had a respiratory problem after and with that in mind it may be a run best forgotten. Back down in class today he is most certainly the one to beat on these terms and though hard to totally forgive that dreadful effort the last day, he is handed a final chance to get back on the winning track. The list of challengers are endless but it was very difficult to overlook Imperious One as he did me a good turn when winning on debut, since then he has improved and his latest second at Goodwood when a fast finisher was very promising. His yard have already had a winner at the meeting and although I don’t like to give two in the same race, he has a very good chance of making the frame with a decent gallop looking assured. Appleton, Farkle Minkus and Humphrey Bogart are others to consider in what looks a decent race. Twin Sails (WIN) Imperious One (E/W)
