The final day of the jumps season which will see Brian Hughes crowned the champion after a tremendous season. Brian has a ride in this race with the hat-trick seeking Red Vision after wins at Bangor and Sedgefield but if he was to take this race it would be a major step up. Head Law is the likely favourite and he completed his hattrick at Southwell last time but that was not a strong race and I feel it would be wise to look elsewhere.
Doctor Parnassus is the one for me each-way as granted a clear round I can’t see him finishing out of the places. A very impressive winner of his first two starts over hurdles, he then had a go at the Triumph Hurdle and was a very respectable seventh. The ground will also be no issue for this former flat runner rated 75 in that code.

The recent stable form would have to be a little concerning, however that aside I feel Boardman should have an excellent chance here. The six-year-old notched a hat-trick of victories at this time last year, starting with a win over track and trip before following up at York and then winning a Class 2 at Chester. He’s back down to that last winning mark and had a decent pipe-opener when fourth at Redcar earlier in the month so should arrive here in good enough order to land the spoils.
Lovely Breeze held her form well throughout last season, making the frame in eight from thirteen and winning twice, however did take a couple of runs to reach her peak and both the afore-mentioned victories came over a shorter trip than she encounters here so the bigger danger looks to be Alrehb who has posted two narrow victories in his last two runs and as such arrives here the form pick. He has only ever raced on the all-weather to date and as such needs to prove he's as capable on turf – if he does act on the surface then he looks capable of giving our selection something to think about.

14:25 Sandown Just the four runners will line up for this years edition of the Oaksey Chase. Mister Fisher was narrowly denied by Frodon in last years renewal of this event so he will be looking to go one better this year. He was pulled up last time out in the Marsh Chase where Saint Calvados was also well beaten. Considering he has to give a further 6lb to that opponent today and he would possibly prefer the ground a bit softer, he is passed over at short odds today. The ground will also be a concern for the aforementioned Saint Calvados who’s victories have all come on slower ground than he will encounter today. Nuts Well has had a great season for Ann Hamilton picking up a valuable handicap prize as well as a listed chase. I can see this trip being ideal for him and he did win on good ground at Kelso back in October. He was well beaten in the Betway Bowl last time out but this is easier if his confidence hasn’t been affected by that. Erne River rounds out the field and is an interesting contender for this race. He has won four of his six starts under rules and is very unexposed. He does however have a lot to find on ratings with his opponents today and his jumping was very novicey last time out so he will need to improve a lot to have a say here. I’m siding with Nuts Well to reward his long travelling team, finishing his campaign with a win here and to give the champion jockey elect another winner here. NUTS WELL (WIN)

Happy Power has some nice form, including Group race victories and has made a decent start to this season. He was a creditable sixth to Songline in the Turf Sprint at the Saudi Cup meeting and finishing second the time after. However, he probably should’ve won that day and would prefer a bit more cut in the ground today. I’m not sure today will be his day.
Path Of Thunder probably deserves favouritism, just on the basis of his connections. Charlie Appleby’s yard is in fantastic form and combined with the equally as in-form, William Buick, they make for a deadly combination. He also has some nice form throughout his career, most recently a successful spell in Meydan. He has a good record over seven furlongs and on good ground, he’s a big danger.
Aratus has won four races on the bounce, three of which came last season. All of which came over seven furlongs and three on good ground. He’s been improving with every run and his last race was by far his best, beating a classy field and looking a likely victor. He’s the only one in this field that hasn’t raced yet, this season, a trend that seems to occur when looking at the past winners of this race. He doesn’t deserve to be the outsider.

£90,000 awaits the winner of the celebration chase and it seems crazy only 5 runners have taken their chance (Debate for another day)
Greaneteen comes back to the course where he won the tingle creek race in December arguably his biggest win to date. Will certainly have his conditions as well in his favour lot to like but I feel the quicker the ground maybe more advantageous to some of his rivals.
Sky Pirate will need a huge career best to be competitive in this race and he has run in a lot of races this season. Hard to see him getting involved. Along with Rouge Vif who has had a really disappointing campaign and has possibly had his problems this season for Paul Nicholls. Rouge Vif has had a wind op since he was last seen (2nd in a space of a year) would need to really work wonders to get involved.
Sceau Royal is a reliable sort who always runs his race. second in this race in 2019 & third in this race last year. if others don't perform, he will certainly be there to pick up the pieces.
My selection though and money has come in for Nube Negra which I think at time of writing is significant. Yes, he was behind Greaneteen at the Tingle creek but Nube Negra is always a better horse when fresh and he hasn't been seen since that defeat. The ground is going to be quick at Sandown no doubt about it faster than when they last met and I think that plays more into Nube Negra hands. He will be played late no doubt about it by Harry Skelton and i think he may just try and catch Greaneteen cold. Don't think we seen the real Nube Negra at the tingle creek and will see a far better performance today

Kitty's Light would have won this last season but for being badly hampered by the re-opposing Enrilo, agonisingly, Potterman who also runs, sandwiched the pair and was given the race via default, further adding to the misery of Christian William's luckless six-year-old. Attempting to separate the chances of that trio is extremely difficult as the first mentioned has probably improved although given his consistency, one would have to say he looks high enough in the weights and as such, he is opposed. Potterman himself is only two pounds higher than twelve months ago and he arrives on the back of a win at Kelso, despite that only being a five runner contest there can be little doubt it was a good race and he could go well again at decent odds.
Win My Wings arrives here searching for the four-timer and she readily brushed aside a few of these when storming clear in the Scottish National. Clearly thriving at present, she is very hard to get away from and her yard are mustard in these contests though you have to wonder how many more times she can defy the handicapper.
Musical Slave won here last month and followed up at Haydock in impressive style, quite lightly raced for a nine year old, he could prove to be the value though genuinely good ground would leave him with something to prove.
Flegmatik is another to consider and like a few, he too arrives in fine form after winning twice at Kempton. Dan Skelton's seven year old has a clear liking for the ground but this mark demands much more of him.
Hewick represents shrewd Irish connections and he will love the ground, already proven at the trip he must overcome a poor effort in the Midlands National though he is afforded respect. Fidux hasn't fired the last few times and looks up against it, he is on his last winning mark though and his yard have taken the last two renewals. The rest are hard to weigh up and whilst Enrilo has the look of an untrustworthy type, he at least looks on a decent mark and he is taken to land the prize for Paul Nicholls.
