TV TIPS (SATURDAY)

13:45 LINGFIELD

With a much changed programme to today’s televised action thanks to the “Beast from the East” the cameras take in four live races from Lingfield.

The all weather action gets underway with a one mile handicap where Humbert heads the betting. It’s difficult to see past the favourite who’s unbeaten on the all-weather and this lightly raced four year old looks to have bags of untapped potential.

Sea Fox performed well in a better race last time so this drop in class should see him go close once again.

At a bigger price a return to an all-weather surface for Constantino looks a huge positive and despite a lengthy absence has the ability to go well fresh.

HUMBERT (WIN)

14:20 LINGFIELD

Our best bet of the day falls in the second race on the card as top jockey Ryan Moore climbs aboard Iballisticvin. The very consistent performer is trained locally and another bold showing is expected by connections especially after just a five pound rise in weight.

Likely favourite Yensir demands a tonne of respect especially as trainer Olly Murphy has his horses running blisteringly well in recent weeks. You can certainly expect a more improved effort than his most recent performance but I wouldn’t be too quick to back such a short priced horse who hasn’t tasted success in all sixteen of his career starts.

IBALLISTICVIN (WIN) - NAP

14:55 LINGFIELD

Despite the main event falling in the following contest this race looks by far the most competitive where a case could easily be made for four or five of the seven runner field.

Favourite Atlético deserves his spot after numerous consecutively good efforts. I’d be shocked to see him out of the top three but for punting purposes I just don’t see the value in backing the favourite.

Encore D’Or was mightily close to claiming victory in a listed contest on his previous start and if I were siding with either of the market principles it’d be Robert Cowell’s runner.

All of this aside however and I feel, despite there now only being seven runners, each way value has to be the order of the day.

Both Boom The Groom and Royal Birth look very viable each way alternatives.

There course form is fantastic with eleven out of fifteen top four finishes at this venue for Boom The Groom and

Royal Birth has only finished unplaced once over today’s course and distance.

I couldn’t put punters off backing either but Royal Birth seemed a tad unlucky last time so a chance is taken that he puts in an improved effort today.

ROYAL BIRTH (E/W)

15:30 LINGFIELD

The final race in this afternoons quartet seems a bit of a match race. I may be doing a disservice to the other four runners but I just can’t look past Headway or Lansky as viable winners.

Headway represents powerhouse connections and had a promising two year old career in some well noted races however with only one win to date and with zero experience on an artificial surface the Haggas trainer runner has a few questions to answer.

Trainer Jeremy Noseda may not have the string of horses at his disposal that he once did but of the two horses he’s sent out in the past fortnight both returned to the yard victorious. Unbeaten on the all weathe, from an in-form yard and with Moore on top Lansky duly gets the nod.
