13:50 Newbury SHOTAVODKA put in an improved performance when a respectable third over course and distance earlier this month and seems to save his best for this venue having made the frame in five of his six runs here. His last career victory came over track and trip in March 2016, in a Class 2 off a mark of 127. Racing off the same mark today, this time in a Class 3, he looks to have obvious claims. Coolking brings the best form in to the race having won his last three but as a result now has a career high mark to contend with and all bar one of his career victories have come in very testing conditions so the drying ground would have to be a concern. Killala Quay had failed to finish in three successive runs this season before emerging victorious at Doncaster last month and although was all out to win by a head he’s a previous Grade 2 winner so can’t be discounted if he arrives on a good day. Shotavodka (WIN)

14:05 Kelso TEO VIVO seeks to complete a hat-trick after an impressive win at Newcastle last time out. The level of opposition doesn’t seem drastically different this time around and although he has to contend with another rise in weight should have enough to fend off today’s rivals. The one I fear the most is in fact Cup Final. Although today’s trip isn’t ideal he still has a touch of class and making his debut for Ben Haslam might get closest to the favourite. Teo Vivo (WIN)

14:25 Newbury This looks to be a tough handicap chase with a number of runners in with genuine chances if bringing their ‘A’ game. Tom George and Adrian Heskin have had a great season so far, teaming up for a 23% winning strike rate with level stakes profit of +£54.61 over the last twelve months, and their runner O’Maonlai has a good record at Newbury with two wins from five. His record over the trip is less than impressive though and he may be best watched today. Walk In The Mill has made the frame in 70% of all career runs and has won two of his last three, although was well beaten at Cheltenham last time out and would probably prefer more testing conditions. Warriors Tale beat Gala Ball by eleven lengths over course and distance earlier this month, although it’s difficult to assess the race fully as he only had two rivals that day. He has also been beaten by O’Maonlai earlier in the season. Aqua Dude has ran well in defeat the last twice, although is yet to win over fences so preference is for ERICHT who, although doesn’t win as often as he should, has placed in three of his last four and races for the Nicky Henderson yard who had two winners here yesterday and have a 42% winning strike rate over the last week. 14:40 Kelso Old boy Reve De Sivola is still going strong and it’s great to see him contesting decent races however it’s safe to say his best days are behind him however I wouldn’t rule him out of grabbing place money. Seeyouatmidnight is more renowned for his chasing prowess and although a big run is expected he’ll be using this as preparation for a crack at the Scottish National. Venetia Williams’ Eminent Poet is a horse that looks on the up and poses a major threat however it’s previous course and distance winner ISAACSTOWN LAD that I’m siding with. With two wins and a third place in just three starts at Kelso he clearly relishes the course and although he’ll need to step up on previous form has enough in him to go well at a bigger price. Isaacstown Lad (E/W)

15:00 Newbury HITHERJACQUES LADY has plenty of experience in big fields and would love any further rain. Wins on her two most recent starts at Lingfield and Wincanton will have boosted her confidence and despite a rise in grade, she is well worth her place in this field. Her form received a healthy boost as Carnspindle whom she beat last time by ten lengths has come out to win subsequently. Oliver Sherwood has maintained a decent level of form all season and Leighton Aspall knows her inside out having partnered her in six career starts to date. Philip Hobbs is rounding off the season in good style and backers of Copper Kay will feel confident about her chances with the stable having sent out five winners alone this week. She too loves a bit of juice in the ground and this remarkably consistent mare may well prove a massive threat. Ruby Yeats was second in a Grade 2 behind Verdana Blue at Cheltenham recently and if repeating that feat she too will have a major say at the finish and is another that commands respect. Hitherjacques Lady (E/W if 9/2+)

15:15 Kelso The final of three live races from Kelso and sadly there’s only seven horses entered so each way terms become trickier. Yala Enki looks a big threat however still remains high in the weights and it seems the handicapper has a firm grip on him. Seldom Inn has a fantastic record here at Kelso and after his most recent listed success is clearly the one to beat but this looks more competitive and although he seems the one to beat I’m hoping I’ve found some each way value. MORNEY WING now sits close to his last winning mark and at double figure odds he seems well overpriced and hopefully he can find a spot in the top two. Morney Wing (E/W)

15:35 Newbury NIGHT OF SIN has made rapid progress this season and has won with something in hand on his two most recent starts at Warwick and Bangor. He likes to front run and has stayed on well to see off the competition recently. Being by the Derby winner Sinndar, he is only likely to improve as he is upped in trip. This extra two furlongs should suit and on ground that will be soft enough he has to be considered. If allowed an uncontested lead he will be hard to peg back and Lizzie Kelly is more than capable of getting her fractions right. Don Bersy comes here looking for a four timer and he has seen off some useful types in the process. His win at Haydock on stamina sapping ground reads well and he wasn’t stopping when he hit the front. He certainly looks the biggest danger to the selection this afternoon. Buckle Street finally got the mark at the eighth attempt at Southwell last time for Martin Keighley and Andy Tinkler. The same combination team up here but will need to improve again in order to see off the main protagonists. Night Of Sin (WIN)
